Almost all Teas, including Ceylon tea, contains caffeine, which can cause a variety of side effects when consumed in excess, such as nervousness, irritability, insomnia, and an increased heart rate. It is generally recommended to consume no more than 300 milligrams of caffeine per day. One cup of Ceylon tea contains approximately 60 milligrams of caffeine, so it is important to keep track of your caffeine intake if you are sensitive to caffeine or if you are consuming large amounts of tea.
